Before We Begin

A word from me to you, before we begin.

I am not writing this from a textbook. I am writing it from the other side of having lived a version of it myself.

I grew up in a home where love was not discussed. I watched my mother lose herself inside a marriage that never poured back into her. My father never showed me what it looks like when a man loves a woman well — so I entered the world without a blueprint. Life became my teacher instead.

Life taught me the difference between attention and love, between chemistry and character, between a man who is choosing you and one who is hunting you. I mistook intensity for intimacy. I gave access before consistency earned it. And I spent years asking what was wrong with me — when the real question was: what did I never get to learn?

Maybe that is your story too. Or maybe yours is quieter — you built a whole life, a marriage, children who needed every piece of you, and somewhere in all that giving, you lost the one person you forgot to keep: yourself. You might even be happy. But you cannot remember the last time you wanted something just for you and let yourself have it.

Or maybe the marriage stopped working long ago and you see no way out. He provided; you stayed home; you never built the version of you who could stand alone — and now you feel caught, unseen, quietly terrified. You didn’t just lose your voice. You forgot the sound of it.

Whoever you are — you are in the right room. This book is about one thing: finding your way back to yourself. Not the performed version. Not the one everyone else needs. You. Fourteen days. One honest page at a time. The book waits. The only rule is that you stay honest.

She is still in there. She has been waiting for you to come back for her. Let’s begin.

Days 1 – 7

Week One · The Witnessing

This week you look. That is the only instruction.

You do not fix anything this week. You do not justify, explain, or defend. You do not decide what it means. You just look.

Most of us skip this part. We go straight to healing — which really means we go straight to performing healed. We say “I’m fine” before we ever sat down with what happened. We decide we are over it before we ever let ourselves be under it.

"You cannot put down what you have never fully picked up and looked at."

Seven days to witness yourself. To see what happened, what it cost, and what you have been carrying since. Not to punish yourself. But because the work cannot begin until you are honest about what the work is.

Days 8 – 14

Week Two · The Releasing

Once you have witnessed it, you can begin to put it down. Not because the story is over — but because you no longer need to carry it to prove it happened.

The Releasing is not about forgiveness on demand. It is not about pretending it did not happen, or deciding it was okay, or letting anyone off the hook who has not earned it. It is about your freedom.

"You are not releasing them. You are releasing yourself from the weight of carrying them."

Week Two is where the work gets quiet and real. This is where you begin to reclaim the parts of yourself you gave away without knowing you were doing it. By the time you reach Day 14, you will not be the same woman who opened the cover.
